Welcome to
the Productivity
Factory!
Everyone agrees that reading books is one of the most productive habits, yet, few are the ones who stick to it. Do you want to know how to make it a part of your schedule ? the Productivity
Factory!
- Time sanctitiy
Choose a time where you don't do anything but read , This can be 30 minutes before you sleep , or 30 minutes after you wake up, or any other time that suits you, make it sacred for reading only, which boosts your focus and makes you less distracted by your surroundings.
- You don't have to finish every book
Sometimes, the book you're reading is so boring that it's hard to finish. Well, guess what? You don't have to! If you don't like it or don't feel that it's enjoyable/informative anymore then you can just close it and move on to the next one.
- Audiobooks
The most boring part about reading is, well... reading , because you have to be focused looking at the book unable to do anything in parallel. Well, there is a solution! You can listen to audiobooks while commuting. This saves so much time and makes commuting more productive than ever. - Use an e-reader
Reading using an e-reader is much better than reading from your laptop or phone . That's because e-readers are only for reading , so there is no access to any distractions like social media. This obviously doesn't prevent you from reaching your phone and becoming distracted, but it makes it harder for you to do so. For better understanding, check out this video about the 20 second rule. - Pick only what you're interested in
Until I was seventeen, I thought reading is the most boring activity ever. That's because I was never intersted in the content of the books i've seen. Then, one day, I saw a post about "Think And Grow Rich" (The first and best book I've ever read, here's why), the topic was so interesting to me that I immediately bought the book and started reading it. In brief, you should choose the genre of the book carefully , else it's going to be always boring and reading will become impossible.
